Automobiles in German City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Officers reported they were contacted by a man who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located numerous other marked cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state initial examinations indicate the substance was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they added.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for details.

An important representative commented the incident made him stunned and had to be addressed promptly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a gunman targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
